Up for sale, a 2005 Rickenbacker Lemmy Kilmister signature “Rickenbastard” model 4004LK in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Easily among the most unique and sought-after Ric basses ever made, this ultra-rare 4004 was designed in collaboration with the Motӧrhead legend and made in extremely limited quantities, with production allegedly capped at only 60 instruments.

Showcasing an unparalleled level of Rickenbacker craftsmanship, this 4004LK features flame maple neck-through construction with walnut body wings hand-carved with a relief of oak leaves and acorns, framed by checkerboard binding. The acoustic response yields ample sustain and power, with notes that have a very balanced response across all strings and in all registers. With a pickup complement of three humbuckers coupled to a three-way pickup selector, plenty of grind and growl is on tap. The bridge pickup is punchy, with upper midrange honk and aggression, particularly when digging in with a pick. With all three pickups selected in the middle position, the sound has more richness and breadth, and the neck/middle pickup combo (position 3) is mellow and smooth. This bass weighs 8lbs 9oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
