Up for sale, a 2005 Jackson Stars DK-03 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. Crafted at the Chushin factory in Japan, this shred-ready Jackson features an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, loaded with the original pair of Duncan Designed HB-103 humbuckers.

The tonewood complement ensures a clear, balanced natural acoustic profile, faithfully captured by the stock pair of Duncan-designed HB-103 humbuckers. Essentially Duncan’s import version of the SH-6 Distortion, these high-output pickups are built for gain, with tight, mean lows, boosted mids, and singing trebles. The neck pickup is fluid and smooth, metering at 8k ohms, and the bridge pickup is aggressive and bold, metering at an impressive 16.5k ohms. This Jackson weighs 7lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.

The quartersawn maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 12th. The 24-fret thick slab rosewood fretboard has a compound 12-16” radius with sharkfin inlay, and the jumbo fretwire has well-rounded crowns and retains its full factory height, exhibiting light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-16 that becomes progressively lighter as you travel up the neck. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the locking nut measures a full 1 11/16” in width. The headstock sports a Jackson Stars logo, and the Jackson Stars-branded Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The black tuners have clean plating and retain the factory protective film on the gear housings.

All of the electronics function as intended; the stock harness is untouched, and the pickups are governed by a three-way blade selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The black-plated hardware is notably clean, including the dome-top knurled knobs and Takeuchi TRS-101 tremolo, which actuates smoothly and snaps quickly back to pitch from deep dives.

Cosmetic wear on the Dark Metallic Blue finish is limited to some scuffing on the treble side of the strum path, a handful of minor dings along the lower bout perimeter, and a number of faint marks and light finish scratches on the back. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is nigh-flawless.

The original Jackson Stars-branded faux leather gigbag is included.
