Up for sale, a 2005 Gretsch Silver Sparkle Jet model G6129-1957 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a Gretsch hardshell case. A silver sparkle-topped iteration of the Duo Jet model, this Gretsch has the traditional tonewood combination of a maple top and chambered mahogany body.

The chambered construction yields plenty of natural sonic authority, bark and breadth, and the Dynasonic single coils have a sparkling percussive cut with plenty of power and midrange authority. Sensitive to a player's picking dynamics, there's a bell-like twang and roundness to single notes played on the bridge pickup, while the neck position single coil has quite a bit of woof and thickness while still retaining great string to string balance and overall clarity. The instrument is featherweight at 6lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with easy-playing action, accurate intonation and fresh 11-49 strings.

The mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has cream binding, hump block pearloid inlay, with flawless slender frets that retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24.6" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut is a hand-carved piece of bone that measures 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the original Grover Sta-tite tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a three-way pickup selector, dedicated Volume knobs for each pickup, a Master Tone, and a Master Volume on the treble side body horn. Hardware includes the chrome-plated trapeze tailpiece and G arrow knobs, along with the Space Control floating bridge and carved ebony base. The original elevated plexi pickguard rounds out the plastics.

Cosmetic wear includes some small dings and finish scratches on the back, and a singular small finish chip adjacent to the output jack. The factory protective film is still intact on the rear control cavity and switch covers, as well as the truss rod cover, indicative of the limited use this guitar has seen in the last 20 years.

A black tolex Gretsch hardshell case is included.
