Up for sale, a 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. An upper-tiered “Plus” model with a figured AAA flame maple top, this Les Paul Standard features a Light Burst gloss nitro lacquer finish and Burstbucker Pro PAF humbuckers.Standard fare in this model as of 2005, the Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this Les Paul is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. Weighing 9lbs 3oz, this Les Paul has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender '60s-style C-shaped profile carve at the nut, gaining notable additional heft and roundness in the upper registers, measuring .810” deep at the 1st fret and .985” at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard features pearloid trapezoid inlay and the fretwire only exhibits a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod, and the nut is 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the Gibson Deluxe tuners are notable for being the more vintage-correct version with push-in bushings and lightly greened tulip buttons, turning smoothly and holding pitch as they should. All of the electronics work as intended, with untouched solder joints and clean PAF stickers on the Burstbucker Pro baseplates. The nickel-plated hardware shines like new, and plastics include the original pickup rings, switch surround, and gold bonnet knobs. The gloss Light Burst nitro lacquer finish highlights the tight flame figuring on the two-piece maple top. Particularly lively with a prominent chevron on the lower bout, the straight tiger flame on each half of the bookmatched cap comes alive at decidedly different angles for a particularly vibrant effect. The top is very clean, with cosmetic wear limited to some faint buckle rash on the back and a scant few tiny marks on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate. The original Gibson hardshell case with black plush interior is included, along with the factory paperwork.
