Up for sale, a 2005 Fender Telecaster Custom '62 vintage reissue model in 100% original condition and in perfect working order with factory-installed Fender USA-made Texas Special pickups. This "Crafted in Japan" Telecaster is a rare model, meant only for the Japanese domestic market, featuring a three-tone Sunburst gloss finish on the alder body framed by ivory binding on the top and back.Officially model TL62B-80TX, this Telecaster came stock from the factory with Fender USA-made Texas Special black bobbin pickups. These pickups offer a bit more kick than your traditional Tele single coil while retaining a vintage-flavored twang, snap, and chewy cut. With great clarity and chime in every position on the three-way switch, there's a biting treble response in the bridge position and smooth, sweet tones at the neck. The guitar weighs 7lbs 6oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and low action. The maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .850" deep at the 1st fret and .955" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a vintage-spec 7 1/4" fretboard radius and retains the original slender fretwire which has its full factory height, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-8 and virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays easily up the 25 1/2" scale, and the neck is straight with an optimally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The nut measures 42mm in width (1.650"). On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The "Crafted in Japan" text and R-prefix serial is present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the stock electronics work as they should, with the USA-made Fender Texas Special pickups governed by Master Volume and Tone controls with knurled knobs. The chrome hardware has plenty of shine, with light patina on the bridge base and spiral saddles. The three-tone Sunburst gloss is accented by a pale mint green pickguard, and cosmetic wear includes scattered small dings on top on the lower bout, scuffing on the back lower bout body edge, and a few additional finish scratches and minor marks on the body as a whole. The lightly ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.A gigbag is included.
