Up for sale, a 2005 Fender Jazz Bass model JB62-WAL in perfect working order, with a Walnut gloss finish that extends to the neck profile and headstock. This "Crafted in Japan" Jazz Bass was a limited run model produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and long ago discontinued. As such, this bass is quite uncommon outside its country of origin and boasts a solid ash body with prominent grain visible through the transparent gloss.The ash body ensures a certain punch and authority, and the instrument has plenty of natural sustain, weighing 10lbs 8oz. The bridge pickup offers a present treble-centric growl and midrange burp, while smoother, wider sounds can be achieved with the neck pickup favored. The bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with round shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard retains the original, practically perfect slender fretwire with well-rounded crowns. The bass plays easily in every register up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius, and the bone nut measures 1 1/2" in width. The headstock features brand new black Gotoh tuning machines that match the footprint and style of the original gears perfectly, offering smooth, reliable performance. The R-prefix serial is present above the four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics work as intended, and hardware includes the black control plate and black chrome bridge, which shows some wear through the plating down to the bare nickel. The one-ply pickguard shows prominent pick scuffing across the strum path, and cosmetic wear on the Walnut gloss finish includes a spot of buckle rash central to the back and just a few additional minor marks almost exclusively relegated to the back and body perimeter. The neck retains its smooth gloss on the profile length.The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
