Up for sale, a 2005 Fender Jazz Bass ‘75 vintage reissue model JB75-100US in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and hangtags. One of the rarer top-tier Jazz Bass models produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market (and now discontinued), this "Crafted in Japan" model features factory-installed USA-made Fender pickups.Weighing 11lbs 4oz with an ash body, there's a strong fundamental punch and sonic authority to the tone, and the low end is thick and focused, with plenty of natural resonance on tap. The pickups are the same as seen on Fender’s American Standard Jazz Bass; the bridge pickup has clarity and growl, balanced by the fuller thump of the neck position single coil, and naturally many of the instrument's best tones come from finding the perfect blend between the two. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazz Bass is strung with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .965” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard sports block inlay, and the medium jumbo fretwire exhibits moderate wear beneath the strings on the crowns of frets 1-10 that becomes progressively lighter as you approach the octave. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. The headstock features a bullet truss rod nut and full-size vintage-style Fender tuners with clover buttons. The R-prefix serial number is present on the headstock face below the Jazz Bass logo, and the "Crafted in Japan" text is present above the three-bolt “F” neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, with the pickups governed by Volume/Volume/Tone controls and a stock harness with full-size Japanese pots and untouched solder joints. The hardware has plenty of shine including the control plate and bridge with barrel saddles, and plastics comprise the trio of knobs and three-ply black pickguard, which has some scuffing along the treble side of the pick path.Cosmetic wear on the gloss Olympic White finish is limited to just a handful of minor dings on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and lower bout body edge. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is immaculate and highlights subtle curly flame figuring in the maple. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags.
