Up for sale, a 2005 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-75TX in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This upper-tiered (and long ago discontinued) “Crafted in Japan” Telecaster was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside of its country of origin, loaded with a factory-installed pair of USA-made Texas Special pickups.
Weighing 7lbs 10oz, tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard. The pair of USA-made Texas Special single coil pickups feature all the hallmarks of vintage Fender pickup construction, with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico pole pieces. Slightly overwound for a bit more kick than a traditional pair of single coils, the Texas Specials deliver plenty of snarl, with quintessential Tele twang in the bridge position and bell-like tones at the neck. This Telecaster Custom TL62B-75TX benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .835” 1st fret, .960” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius, dot inlay
-Frets: Slender, light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm)
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” R-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: USA-made Texas Special x2
-Controls: Volume, Tone, three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge base with spiral (threaded) saddles, flat-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Three-ply mint green pickguard, top hat switch tip
The gloss three-tone Sunburst finish is framed by white binding front and back, with light pick scuffing on top extending beyond the bass-side of the pickguard, a bit of shallow buckle worming on the lower bout of the back, and a handful of minor nicks and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
A padded Fender gigbag is included.
