Up for sale, a 2005 Epiphone Casino in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Unsung factory in Korea, this uncommon and discontinued iteration of the Casino is fitted with a USA-made B7 Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. Stacking up well against the Elitist line, this Casino is expertly crafted and extremely well-kept.Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The P-90s pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and have a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want dynamic cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement beyond most other modern Casino reissues. The guitar is featherweight at only 6lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in for optimal action and intonation with 10-46 roundwound strings. The neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder in every register, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The smooth gloss finish on the profile feels great on the palm, and the bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid trapezoid inlay. The original medium jumbo frets retain their full factory height and have tons of meat, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-8, playing cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale. The truss rod is responsive and ideally adjusted, and the neck is straight, offering low action in every register and effortless playability. The nut measures 1 5/8" in width. The headstock retains the original Kluson-style tuners with lightly greened tulip buttons, turning smoothly and holding pitch well. The U05-prefix serial number dates the instrument to 2005, with the "U" signifying Unsung factory production. The electronics are untouched, with chrome pickup covers on the P-90s and gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls. An upgraded tortoise pickguard with "E" epsilon rounds out the plastics, showing some requisite pick scuffing across the guard. Hardware includes the ABR-1 bridge which works in concert with the upgraded USA-made B7 vibrato, offering a very smooth, even response. The Sunburst finish is rich and glossy framed by ambered binding, showing only a couple minor dings adjacent to the forward strap button and a few exceedingly light finish scratches on the back. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. This Epiphone Casino is professionally setup, and a rare, discontinued iteration made at the Unsung factory to exacting standards with an upgraded Bigsby vibrato. The original hardshell case is included.
