Up for sale, a 2005 D*A*M Drag ‘n’ Fly in near-mint condition, complete with the original box, paperwork, and candy. D*A*M, based in the UK, is well-known for their exacting standard, unparalleled build quality, and proven ability to create some of the most dynamic, soulful fuzz boxes on the market. This Drag ‘n’ Fly hybrid fuzz is an exceptionally versatile unit that utilizes both germanium and silicon transistors, resulting in a “best of both worlds” tone that pairs the sweet organic texture of the former with the massive high gain bite of the latter. Sonically, this pedal can easily cut through any mix, with plenty of searing treble sizzle on tap, but there’s an overall full-bodied warmth that keeps the signal from ever getting too harsh.

The silicon/germanium combination is also beneficial in stabilizing any potential temperature fluctuation problems that sometimes occur with full germanium circuits. The handwired circuit is essentially a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face combined with certain elements of the Vox Tone Bender (‘68 silicon Fuzz Face and ‘66 germanium Tone Bender), rolled up into a compact, pedalboard friendly package. Other features include a Filter control, enabling the Drag ‘n’ Fly to function very well with both humbuckers and single coils; internal input impedance correction, enabling this fuzz to be paired with a wah pedal (either in front or in back); adjustable biasing; and low noise circuitry via high-grade metallised polyester film capacitors, BC components electrolytic capacitors, 1% tolerance metal film resistors, a military-grade germanium transistor, and Neutrik jacks.

This is relatively little wear beyond a few small marks and scuffs around the edges of the enclosure. The interior of the baseplate is dated 11/10/2005 and signed by David Main.

The original box is included, along with the paperwork and case candy.
