Up for sale, a 2004 Rickenbacker 360/12 VP in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags, and case candy. This 360/12 features a gloss Burgundy finish, one of Rickenbacker's rarer and more desirable custom colors from their Color Of The Year program (a reissue of the vintage custom color Burgundyglo), only available in a particularly short window from 2004-2005.
The maple body construction ensures both breadth and detail, with plenty of natural chime and jangle inherent to the Ric twelve-string sound. The pair of factory-installed Toaster Top pickups set this Rickenbacker aside from the majority of examples from this run, earning it the "VP" designation (Vintage Pickups). These pickups are Rickenbacker's current scatterwound design, faithful to '60s spec with plenty of sparkling percussive cut and harmonic richness. Weighing 7lbs 13oz, this 360/12 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple, Walnut
-Shape: Substantial D, full shoulders, measuring .950” 1st fret, .965” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Bound rosewood, triangle inlay
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 5/8”
-Tuners: Schaller
-Serialization: 04-prefix on jack plate
Body Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: Toaster Top, Scatterwound
-Harness: Untouched solder, CTS 250k pots date to 42nd week of ‘03
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Blend
-Hardware: “R” tailpiece, six-saddle bridge
-Plastics: Two-tiered pickguard (“Made in America” sticker still intact)
This is a notably well-kept example, with barely a scratch on the rare Burgundyglo gloss finish. The smooth matching gloss on the neck profile is similarly pristine.
The original hardshell case is included, along with the factory hangtags and case candy.
