Up for sale, a 2004 Jackson Custom Shop King V Double Neck in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. This custom-built Jackson is a one-to-one spec replica of the original double King V Jackson designed for Dave Mustaine in 1994, a necessary constituent for the live performance of iconic songs like “Trust” on Megadeath’s Cryptic Writings tour. Essentially the only known example of this model/finish beyond Mustaine’s original(s), this King V features neck-through construction, a heavily figured quilted maple top with a gloss Amber finish, and a trio of Seymour Duncan humbuckers.

This King V features a solid korina body and korina necks capped with bound ebony fretboards. The korina construction ensures plenty of midrange warmth and detail, paired with the note attack and treble cut of the ebony boards. The three pickups are all Seymour Duncan TB-4/SH-4 JBs. These pickups are aftermarket additions, as the dated stickers on the pickup baseplates are from 2006-07. Seymour Duncan’s most popular pickup of all time, the JB is the original hot-rodded humbucker, a high output pickup that delivers a rich, versatile tone, with full and powerful lows, crisp and detailed highs, and an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords and translates to a singing, vocal-like quality for melodic playing. This King V weighs 11lbs 4oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Amber finish highlights the deep waves of quilted figuring across the thick maple cap. Not a mere veneer, the maple comprises over a third of the body depth. There’s barely a mark on the body, and the gloss on each neck profile is similarly pristine.

The original G&G Deluxe hardshell case is included, along with the hangtags/inspection card, dated 10-30-04.
