Up for sale, a 2004 History J-Standard Iliad T-style electric guitar in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. As the factory best known for all of Fender Japan's output in their golden "Made in Japan" era, Fujigen has also crafted some spectacular instruments under their own banner. With its ash body, maple neck, and two-tone Sunburst gloss finish, this Fujigen model channels the zeitgeist of Fender's '50s Teles.
An earlier iteration of the Iliad platform that was more Fender-centric in its visual stylings, this T-style guitar has a very ergonomic body with a belly contour, smooth curved bass-side lower bout for forearm comfort, and a contoured neck heel for easy access to the highest frets. The guitar features a single coil-sized blade humbucker in the bridge position and a traditional neck position single coil. The bridge pickup has plenty of authority and smooth, powerful cut while the neck pickup has a bell-like quality. The instrument weighs 7lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile with notably round shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th. The 22 fret slab maple fretboard features a compound 10-14" modern radius for effortless chording and broad bending, with notes that sing out in every register. The slender frets exhibit no wear, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The hand-carved bone nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
On the body, all of the electronics function as intended, with full-size pots and a traditional Tele control layout with Master Volume and Tone knobs coupled to a three-way pickup selector switch. The six-saddle bridge ensures optimal intonation, and hardware includes domed knurled knobs and a gleaming chrome-plated control plate. The ash body features a transparent two-tone Sunburst gloss finish accented by a single-ply black pickguard. There's barely a scratch on the high gloss body finish, and the satin finish on the neck is flawless.
A gigbag is included.
