Up for sale, a 2004 Fender USA Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Stratocaster in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. One of Fender USA's more unique signature models, this Yngwie Strat uses a 1971 Stratocaster as its template, boasting a scalloped, nitro lacquer-finished maple fingerboard with super jumbo fretwire, a brass nut, an alder body finished in Vintage White, a trio of Dimarzio pickups.

Engineered for high gain neo-classical shred, the pickup complement includes Dimarzio DP217 pickups in the neck and middle positions and a DP117 at the bridge. These pickups offer hum-free performance with a broad low end that's warm and tight, and a smooth, glassy treble response. These qualities combine perfectly with a heavily distorted amp, staying tight and defined, and as Dimarzio puts it, these pickups are the, "weapon of choice for Strat-powered classical metal." This Strat weighs 8lsb 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck hsa a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and uniform relatively shallow scalloping, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The super jumbo fretwire shows virtually no wear, and the maple fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius. The guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The brass nut measures 1 .650" in width, and the large headstock features a Stratocaster block logo, Yngwie's signature, and SZ4-prefix serial number which translates to 2004. The neck heel is also stamped with a July 9th, 2004 build date.

All of the electronics function as intended, with the Dimarzio pickups wired to CTS pots and a traditional Strat control array. There is heavy patina on the bridge saddles and mounting screws, with cleaner chrome plating on the bridge base and jack cup. Plastics include a greenish-gray pickguard and cream knobs and pickup covers. It's also notable that this signature model is no longer offered with Yngwie's historically preferred Dimarzios (current models use Seymour Duncans). The Vintage White gloss body finish exhibits one nick on top at the bass-side waist and some finish scratches and minor marks on the guitar as a whole. The neck is finished in ambered nitro lacquer, with a few small nicks on the profile length, yet nothing distracting to the palm while fretting.

A molded Fender USA hardshell case is included.
