Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This limited edition "Crafted in Japan" model (one of reportedly 400 made for this run) has been exceedingly well-kept for the past two decades, boasting the premium fit and finish work for which Fender Japan is known.
Tonewoods include a basswood body and maple neck capped by a rosewood fingerboard, and this guitar has a smooth, balanced acoustic profile. The trio of flat pole alnico magnet single coil pickups deliver a bevy of '70s-flavored Strat tonalities; the bridge has a sparkling spank, the neck has a bell-like sweetness, and there’s hollow Strat quack at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector. Weighing 7lbs 14oz, this ST72 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .845” 1st fret, .945” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, light wear on frets 1-3
-Scale Length: 25 1/2"
-Nut Width: 1 5/8", bone
-Tuners: Schaller F-stamped
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” Q-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket
Body Specs:
-Wood: Basswood
-Pickups: Single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo with block saddles, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply Antigua pickguard, black knobs/pickup covers
The gloss Antigua finish has some light pick scuffing beyond the bass-side edge of the pickguard on top and a few small dings and faint finish scratches on the body. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
An upgraded black tolex hardshell case is included (this model originally shipped in a gigbag).
