Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Stratocaster '62 vintage reissue electric guitar in near mint, 100% original condition and perfect working order. Crafted exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, the ST62-58US model is an upscale iteration rarely seen outside its country of origin, featuring USA-made American Vintage 57/62 single coils with black bobbins, staggered alnico magnets, and cloth-covered wire.Designed to pay homage to the golden era Pre-CBS Strat, this Stratocaster has plenty of sparkle and spank on tap. The bridge pickup provides biting twang and cut, while the "in-between" positions on the five-way pickup selector switch have a snappy, thinned-out quack. The neck pickup is bold and round with a throaty zing that's harmonically rich and great for lead work. Acoustically resonant and well-balanced on a strap, this Strat weighs 7lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and solid intonation. The maple neck has an unusually chunky and full-feeling C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .875" deep at the 1st fret and .950" at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and the original vintage-spec fretwire. These slender frets retain their full factory height, showing just a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in every position with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25 1/2”, and the bone nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS small Strat shape, with correct logo and Kluson-style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch well. Above the four-bolt neck plate, the "Crafted in Japan" text and R-prefix serial number are intact. All of the electronics work as intended, and the trio of USA-made Fender single coil pickups are wired to the original harness with full-size pots. The tremolo has a full-size block for optimal sustain, and the chrome hardware has bright plating. Plastics include bright white pickup covers and knobs, and a three-ply pickguard. Stunningly well-kept, cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to one small nick adjacent to the rear strap button, and otherwise there's barely a scratch on it. The ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original Fender-branded padded gigbag is included, along with the original manual.
