2004 Fender Rosewood Telecaster TL-Rose w/ USA Pickups, Japan CIJ

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Rosewood Telecaster model TL-Rose in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. A rare limited run Tele made only for the Japanese domestic market, the TL-Rose model features a pair of USA-made Fender American Vintage black bobbin pickups and rosewood veneers on the front and back of the body sandwiching a basswood core. Paired with a maple neck and thick slab rosewood fretboard, the guitar has a clear, smooth acoustic quality that translates well through the USA-made pickups. The flat pole piece alnico magnet bridge pickup has an authoritative cut and sparkle, while the neck pickup is smooth and bell-like in its response. The guitar weighs 7lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The neck has a round, moderately chunky C-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and full shoulders in every register, measuring .855" deep at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. The gloss-finished slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage spec 7 1/4" radius and retains the original slender frets which have good height and well-rounded crowns, playing cleanly up the 25 1/2" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The nut measures 42.5mm in width (just fractionally shy of a full 1 11/16"), and the headstock features a rosewood veneer on the face, simple "Fender" spaghetti logo, and Fender F tuning machines that turn smoothly with gleaming chrome plating. The "Crafted in Japan" text and Q-prefix serial number is present above the four-bolt F neck plate.

The electronics function as intended, with the black bobbin USA-Fender pickup pair governed by full-size 250k pots and a three-way pickup selector switch. Hardware includes steel barrel bridge saddles and flat-topped knurled knobs on a spotless chrome control plate, and the rich grain of the rosewood is accented by a three-ply black pickguard. There is light pick wear across the guard, buckle rash in the clear coat at the bass-side waist on the back, a couple small finish chips on the body perimeter, and just a few additional faint finish scratches on the body as a whole.

A gigbag is included.
