Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue fretless model in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market with a host of premium features, this non-catalog model is an elevated version of the JB62-77FL platform, yet with a premium ash body and Natural gloss finish. The bass boasts USA-made pickups and vintage-spec tuners and bridge saddles with a lined slab rosewood fretboard. Strung with flatwound 45-105 strings, the instrument has an authoritative, clear, and smooth natural acoustic tone that is channeled faithfully through the pickups with plenty of growl, upper midrange burp, and throaty, punchy low end, Weighing 9lbs 8oz, we've had this Jazz Bass professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with comfortable action. The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped neck profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders, measuring .840" deep at the nut and .960" at the octave. The lined slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this particular tonewood with a 7 1/4" radius, and the nut has the traditional 1 1/2" J Bass width. On the headstock, the bass features a set of vintage-style nickel-plated tuning machines with long shafts, clover buttons, and clean plating. Even the vintage-correct third strap button is present on the back of the headstock. The "Crafted in Japan" text and P-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the stock electronics work as they should including the USA-made, factory-installed pickups. The chrome hardware and plastic parts are clean as can be, including the vintage-spec spiral bridge saddles. Cosmetic wear on the Natural gloss finish is limited to two finish chips on top on the edges of the neck pocket, and there's otherwise barely a scratch on the body. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.A form-fit faux leather gigbag is included.
