Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Jazz Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model JB62-75US in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An uncommon upper-tiered “Crafted in Japan” Jazz Bass produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this bass features USA-made pickups and vintage-spec touches including full-size tuner baseplates and spiral bridge saddles.Tonewoods include an alder body and maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard, and at 9lbs 9oz, the bass delivers plenty of natural sustain and sonic authority. The pickups deliver sweet midrange and articulate growl, with a clear treble register and plenty of broad thump when the Tone knob is rolled back. This Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a moderately slender C-shaped profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges and more shoulder and overall heft in the upper registers, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .955” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a notably dark cut with a vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius, and the stock slender fretwire is practically perfect. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2“ in width, carved from bone for optimal clarity and sustain. On the headstock, the stock tuners have full-size baseplates and clover buttons, turning smoothly and holding accurate pitch. The ambered peghead sports the correct '62 style "Fender Jazz Bass" decal too, and the bass even has a third strap button, keeping things period correct down to the smallest details. The “Crafted in Japan” text and Q-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate. All of the electronics work as they should, with the USA-made Fender single coils wired to the stock harness with full-size Japanese pots. All of the chrome-plated hardware is notably clean, including the control plate and bridge with spiral saddles. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and the three-ply white pickguard. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to a handful of faint finish scratches in the clear coat and tiny marks on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and perimeter. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is flawless.A gigbag is included.
