Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Jaguar model JG66 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with an upgraded Fender/G&G Deluxe hardshell case. Finished in Antigua, this limited run iteration of the Jaguar marries circa 1962 Jaguar specs with a decidedly 1970s finish, boasting the premium fit and finish work for which Fender Japan is known.

Acoustically, this Jaguar offers a clear, ringing voice which translates well through the original pair of flat pole piece alnico magnet single coils. For surfy snap and twang, it's hard to beat the Jaguar, a model adopted by a huge range of genres for its cutting Fender tone and easy playability. With a percussive clarity and snarl in the bridge position and warmer, darker tonalities at the neck, there's a surprisingly broad range of tones available on the Jaguar, a range further enhanced by the Rhythm Circuit on the bass-side body horn (for even darker tones) and a high pass filter switch on the hexagonal switch plate (for more thinned out, treble-centric sizzle). This Jaguar weighs 8lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with  11-49 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .945” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the stock slender fretwire is pristine, playing cleanly up the 24” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, and the “Crafted in Japan” text and Q-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics function as intended, and the chrome-plated hardware shines like new. The vibrato actuates smoothly and bounces quickly back to pitch, perfect for surfy warbles and broader gestures. Plastics comprise the original pointer knobs, bright white pickup covers and matching Antigua pickguard, all of which are notably clean.

This is an exceedingly well-kept example of a limited edition Fender Jaguar, with barely a mark on the custom color Antigua gloss finish. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is similarly flawless.
