Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-SC in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare, non-catalog “Crafted in Japan” Strat shares a number of features with the Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster, including a scalloped fretboard, a brass nut, and a large ‘70s-style headstock.
Tonewoods include a basswood body and a one-piece maple neck, and this ST72-SC weighs 7lbs 11oz. The original trio of ST-Single ceramic magnet single coil pickups have a clear sound, with more punch and cut than alnico magnet varieties, offering a sparkling sound in the bridge position, a fat, authoritative quality at the neck, and hollow quack at the “in-between” positions on the five-way pickup selector switch. This ST72-SC has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss finish is abbreviated YWH (Yellow White), as it's a purposefully yellowed iteration of Olympic White that (not coincidentally) closely matches Yngwie's vintage Strats, exhibiting bit of darker finish bleed below the clear coat. There is one ding on top central to the lower bout and some minor nicks along the lower bout perimeter. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original padded gigbag is included.
