Up for sale, a 2006 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-BIGS in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This discontinued Telecaster model is an uncommon iteration featuring a genuine USA-made Bigsby B5F vibrato tailpiece. Produced for the Japanese domestic market, this “Crafted in Japan” Tele is uncommon outside its country of origin.Tonewoods include a double bound alder body and a maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard, ensuring a lively, balanced sound channeled faithfully by the single coil pickups. These pickups deliver quintessential Tele tonalities; there’s plenty of chewy twang and bridge position bite, with a full, throaty neck pickup that retains great clarity. This Tele weighs 8lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845” deep at the 1st fret and .950” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard has a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius, and the slender fretwire only exhibits a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-2. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and R-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups wired to the stock harness and governed by a three-way selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls. The hardware all gleams like new, including the control plate, flat-topped knurled knobs, bridge with spiral saddles, and USA-made Bigsby B5F vibrato. Plastics comprise the three-ply pale mint green pickguard and top hat switch tip.The gloss Sunburst finish is framed on top and back by cream binding, with cosmetic wear limited to just a couple minor dings on the body as a whole, and some light finish scratches in the clear coat on the back. The smooth ambered gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.A Gator-brand gigbag is included.
