Up for sale, a 2004 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62-BIGS in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This since-discontinued, upscale “Crafted in Japan” Tele faithfully captures the look and feel of an instrument from ‘62, with a three-tone Sunburst gloss finish over an alder body, framed by cream binding on the top and back and accented by a pale mint green pickguard; outfitted from the factory with a USA-made Bigsby B5F vibrato tailpiece.

The guitar has plenty of twang and snap in the bridge position, with a great Fender rhythm sound with both pickups engaged, and a sweet and full neck pickup tone that's perfect for lead lines or more mellow chord passages. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 11-49 strings, this Telecaster Custom features low action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with generous, inviting shoulders and faintly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .860” deep at the 1st fret and .975” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard sports a vintage-spec 7 1/4“ radius and practically perfect slender frets that retain their factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only a hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the original Kluson-style Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch. The “Crafted in Japan” text and Q-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the factory electronics function as intended, and the chrome-plated hardware is in excellent condition. For quick warbles and moderately deep dives, the USA-made Bigsby B5F vibrato (not the cheaper licensed variety, but the real deal) works very well, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. The gloss Sunburst finish is framed on both sides by cream binding. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with cosmetic wear limited to a scant few faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A Roadrunner Polyfoam case is included, delivering the rigidity and protection of a hardshell case with the weight of a gigbag.
