Up for sale, a 2004 Epiphone Elite SG ‘61 Reissue in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with its original hardshell case and hangtags. One of the last Elite-branded Epiphone models (first available from 2002-04) before the change to the Elitist branding, this particular SG was an exclusive Japanese domestic market version of this SG platform featuring a rare “open book” Gibson-style headstock shape.
Weighing 7lbs 10oz, tonewoods include an African mahogany body and one-piece neck with a long tenon joint, capped with a bound rosewood fretboard. The pair of Elitist humbuckers are bright and bold with plenty of midrange cut. The neck position is round and full, with a throaty growl, while the bridge pickup has a hot, aggressive bite. Each position on the three-way switch is distinct, and the pickups take gain notably well. This Elite SG benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
