Up for sale, a 2004 Epiphone Casino in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at the Peerless factory in Korea, this uncommon and discontinued iteration of the Casino stacks up well against the Elitist line. Utterly unique in its presentation, this Casino sports areas of deep, concentrated flame maple on top, and quilted maple figuring extending liberally across the back.Acoustically, the fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The P-90s pickups are wound to vintage spec with plenty of midrange bark, and have a glassy, percussive quality. Whether you want dynamic cleans or thick overdrive, these pickups can produce either with ease and with a refinement beyond most other modern Casino reissues. The guitar is featherweight at only 5lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and dialed in for low action and spot-on intonation with 10-46 roundwound strings. The mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder in every register, measuring .825" deep at the 1st fret and .935" at the 12th. The bound extremely dark rosewood fretboard features pearloid parallelogram inlay and original medium jumbo frets which have their full factory height and plenty of meat, showing only a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, consistent with spec for pre-1965 Casino models, and a feature that's surprisingly uncommon on Casino iterations. The headstock retains the original Kluson-style tuners, turning smoothly and holding pitch well. The electronics are untouched, and the chrome plated hardware is positively gleaming. Stock plastics include the quartet of reflector cap knobs and pickguard with raised "E" epsilon that shows a bit of light pick scuffing across the guard. The orange oval label is visible through the F hole, dating the instrument's production to 2004. The Natural gloss finish highlights the extremely rare and prominent figuring in the maple across the top and back, and there's barely a scratch on the body. The neck profile gloss is equally flawless. This Epiphone Casino is professionally setup, and a rare, discontinued iteration made at the Peerless factory to exacting standards. The original black tolex hardshell case with Epiphone "E" gold silkscreen on the lid is included.
