Up for sale, a 2003 Yamaha SA2200 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This uncommon, finely crafted Yamaha model was produced in limited numbers as Yamaha’s flagship semi-hollow Gibson-inspired instrument in the 2000s, featuring flame maple body construction, a mahogany neck, bound ebony fingerboard, and a pair of coil-splittable Alnico V humbuckers.
The maple construction offers excellent note attack and detail, balanced by the warmth and breadth of the hollow body wings. The Alnico V humbuckers are wound in the PAF vein, delivering spongy lows and crystalline, sparkling trebles. The neck pickup is smooth and bold, with a tight-yet-rich punch at the bridge. The push/push coil splits via the Tone knobs enable single coil spank and bell-like cut, further broadening the tonal palette. This SA2200 weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Brown Sunburst finish highlights the tight figuring in the flame maple, framed on both sides by multi-ply binding, and cosmetic wear is limited to some minor dings and finish scratches, primarily concentrated at the lower bout. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
