Up for sale, a 2003 Rickenbacker 4003 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, factory paperwork and case candy. Sporting a gloss Fireglo finish, this iconic instrument boasts a maple neck through body and bound rosewood fingerboard, yielding healthy sustain and an immediate, resonant quality that translates faithfully through the Hi-Gain pickup pair. These single coils have a distinctive midrange heft and tonal color, with plenty of growl and low end richness. The bass weighs 9lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 45-100 strings, comfortable action and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a round and substantial D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulder, measuring .945" deep at the 1st fret and .980" at the 12th. The gloss-finished rosewood fretboard sports triangular pearl inlays, and the medium jumbo fretwire is virtually unplayed with perfectly rounded crowns. The bass plays well in all registers up the 33 1/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive pair of optimally adjusted truss rods. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the clover button tuning machines turn smoothly and the "Rickenbacker" logo truss rod cover is intact. The Fireglo exhibits a tiny bit of faint speckling in the clear coat on the bass-side body horn, and just a couple additional faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless. The original Rickenbacker molded hardshell case is included, along with all factory paperwork and case candy.
