Up for sale, a 2003 Rickenbacker 360 in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. The semi-hollow maple body and set-neck construction affords the 360 a certain sonic richness and immediacy, and it's no wonder that top players of the British Invasion and folk boom of the 1960s gravitated towards Rickenbacker for their top notch construction and tone.
Equipped with stereo "Rick-o-Sound" functionality and boasting Rickenbacker's Hi-Gain single coils, the guitar has a sweet, sparkling sound. The tone has great warmth and nuance, and when you strum a chord with authority, the instrument has a clear, cutting quality, inherent in maple as a tonewood. The guitar balances well on a strap, weighing 7lbs 5oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with 11-49 strings, this Rickenbacker has low action and accurate intonation.
The neck has a round C-shaped profile carve, measuring .950" at the 1st and 12th frets. The gloss-finished bound rosewood fretboard boasts triangular pearl inlays, and the slender frets exhibit moderate wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3, with fainter wear extending to fret 6. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1.650“ in width. On the headstock, the “Rickenbacker” truss rod cover/logo is present, and the Schaller tuning machines turn smoothly and function flawlessly.
All of the electronics function as intended, and the wiring harness is untouched. The serial number on the stereo Rick-o-Sound jack plate dates the instrument to 2003, and the chrome "R" tailpiece and six saddle bridge have bright chrome plating. Plastics comprise the two-tiered pickguard and the quintet of knobs.
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Jetglo finish includes light buckle rash on the back, and various additional finish scuffs and minor marks, also largely relegated to the back. The neck profile retains its smooth gloss.
