Up for sale, a 2003 Kendrick Model 118 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. A boutique reproduction of the legendary Fender Tweed Champ 5F1 circuit, this amp was hand-built in Kempner, Texas, delivering the same dynamic and glassy tube tone as that original design, going from clean to fully saturated overdrive with a twist of the single Volume knob.
The circuit features the original Kendrick-branded transformer pair and the vintage-style eyelet board is loaded with premium parts throughout. The original Sprague Atoms in the power supply sport date codes translating to the 40th week of ‘02 and 22nd week of ‘03, and the tube set includes a vintage Sylvania 5Y3 rectifier, Electro-Harmonix 6V6GT power tube, and JJ ECC83 valve in the preamp. The tube chart inside the cabinet is pristine. The speaker is a ceramic magnet 8" Kendrick Black Frame, handling 10 watts at 4 ohm.
There are just a few faint marks on the tweed, and the oxblood/gold stripe grillcloth is pristine. The faceplate is flawless with clean silkscreen text and the original chickenhead knob. The original hardware includes the leather handle and sphinx glides (feet), while the “Kendrick” badge has been removed.
