Up for sale, a 2003 Gibson SG Supreme in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory paperwork. This upper-tiered, discontinued SG model features a bookmatched AA flame maple top highlighted by a Fireburst finish and gold hardware. This particular Supreme sports a bevy of upgrades including a pair of 490R and 498T humbuckers, a TonePros Tune-o-Matic bridge and stopbar, a premium harness with push/pull coil taps, and Grover Rotomatic locking tuners (all original electronics and hardware included).
Based on the PAF platform, the 490R is wax-potted for optimal feedback rejection offering accentuated upper midrange punch, smooth treble cut, and an ideal blend of thickness and airiness in the low end. The 498T in the bridge position is a high output powerhouse, great for high gain and cutting crunch. Additionally, the upgraded push/pull coil taps broaden the available tonal palette with single coil sparkle when engaged. This SG Supreme weighs 7lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
