Up for sale, a 2002 Yamaha Masayoshi Takanaka Signature model SG-T2 in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. An utterly unique signature model spin on Yamaha's perennially popular SG platform, this Yamaha was designed in collaboration with Japanese guitar legend and city pop pioneer Masayoshi Takanaka. The bevy of unique features include an HSH pickup complement, Rockin’ Magic-Pro III tremolo, and a See Through Navy gloss finish with "Takanaka" inlays.
Weighing 10lbs, this SG-T2 features neck-through construction with a three-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck (patented as the T-Cross System), a carved maple top, and mahogany body wings, taking Gibson's tried and true tonewood combination and utilizes it to great effect. The HSH pickup complement yields a wide array of tonal options: the SGH-3CC Alnico V magnet humbuckers are punchy and bold, the single coil pickup in the middle position delivers plenty of single coil sparkle and shimmer, and the band-control Tone knob utilizes the Active EQ system for deeper sound-shaping. The See-Through Navy gloss finish exhibits some minor dings on the treble-side back and perimeter, along with some faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean, save for a shallow nick on the bass-side shoulder at the 7th fret.
