2002 Gibson Les Paul Special Electric Guitar Walnut Gloss 100% Original & Near Mint w/ Case

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2002 Gibson Les Paul Special in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, with a sleek gloss Walnut nitro lacquer finish. Offering the same tonal platform as a '50s single cutaway Special and boasting a couple key player-friendly modern tweaks, this Gibson features an Tune-o-Matic bridge for more accurate intonation, and a pair of original stacked bobbin P-100 pickups. These pickups offer plenty of classic P-90 growl, presence, and midrange power, while also featuring a second coil to eliminate unwanted single coil hum. The guitar weighs 8lbs 11oz with a slab mahogany body and a clear acoustic voice that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Les Paul Special has been dialed in with low action and fresh 10-46 strings.

The one-piece mahogany neck has Gibson's quintessential slender C "60s" profile carve at the nut, yet with full, rounded shoulders in every register, providing both a fast and substantial feel, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .935" at the 12th. On the bound rosewood fretboard, the original medium jumbo frets have their full factory height, showing virtually no wear. The guitar plays easily in every register with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width, and the scale length is 24 3/4". The face of the headstock retains the original Gibson gold silkscreen text, and the guitar is fitted with the original set of Gibson Deluxe bolt-bushing tuners with greened tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as they should, with the pair of original black bobbin P-100 pickups wired to an untouched wiring harness with stock Gibson-embossed Alpha pots. The guitar features a traditional Les Paul control array with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup and original perfect black bell knobs. The Nashville bridge and stopbar tailpiece have positively gleaming chrome plating, and the original three-ply black pickguard and pickup selector Rhythm/Treble ring are also intact. Cosmetic wear on the Walnut nitro lacquer gloss finish is limited to pick scuffing across the guard and a few errant faint finish scratches and microscopic nicks in the clear coat of the gloss. The neck profile is flawless.

A black tolex TKL hardshell case is included.
