Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Stratocaster ‘71 vintage reissue model ST71-85TX in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Stratocaster is an uncommon, upscale model, designed for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin. Features include a factory-installed set of Fender’s USA-made Texas Special pickups and vintage accurate touches including a large 70s-style headstock, three-bolt neck plate, and block saddles.
Weighing 7lbs 7oz, tonewoods include an ash body and one-piece maple neck. Fender’s Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnets, delivering a bevy of sparkling classic Strat tonalities with a slightly aggressive overwound snap. The bridge pickup is bold and chewy and the neck has a full, bell-like quality. This ST71-85TX has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .840” 1st fret, .940” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, vintage-spec 7 1/4” radius
-Frets: Medium jumbo, faint wear favoring the plain strings on frets 1-10
-Scale Length: 25 1/2”
-Nut: 1 5/8”, bone
-Tuners: Schaller-made Fender “F”
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” P-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket
Body Specs:
-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: Texas Special single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots, upgraded Jensen paper-in-oil tone cap
-Hardware: Six-point vibrato with block saddles, jack cup

The gloss Natural finish is extremely well-kept with only some minor dings, a bit of pick wear across the guard, and a tiny bit of finish checking at the corners of the neck pocket. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
