Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Stratocaster ‘71 vintage reissue model ST71-85TX in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This “Crafted in Japan” Stratocaster is an uncommon, upscale model, designed for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin. Features include a factory-installed set of Fender’s USA-made Texas Special pickups and vintage accurate touches including a large 70s-style headstock, three-bolt neck plate, and block saddles.
Weighing 7lbs 10oz, tonewoods include an ash body and one-piece maple neck. Fender’s Texas Special single coils match vintage spec with black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and staggered alnico magnets, delivering a bevy of sparkling classic Strat tonalities with a slightly aggressive overwound snap. The bridge pickup is bold and chewy and the neck has a full, bell-like quality. This ‘71 Stratocaster ST71-85TX benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
