Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Precision Bass ‘62 vintage reissue model PB62-70US in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This upper-tiered “Crafted in Japan” Precision Bass boasts premium features including a USA-made pickup, spiral bridge saddles and full-size tuner baseplates, produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and uncommon outside of its country of origin.
The tonewood complement comprises an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard. The USA-made split-coil pickup is the same pickup seen in American Standard models of the era, and this pickup delivers thump, sonic breadth and sweet treble growl. This PB62-70US weighs 9lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, full shoulders, measuring .845” 1st fret, .965” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 7 1/4” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, virtually no wear
-Scale Length: 34”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, bone
-Tuners: Clover buttons, full-size baseplates, nickel-plated
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan,” P-prefix
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: USA-made P-Bass Vintage split coil
-Controls: Volume, Tone
-Hardware: Bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles, flat-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Four-ply tortoise pickguard
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst finish is limited to light scuffing along the pick path (largely constrained to the pickguard), and just a few minor nicks on the body as a whole, primarily on the back and perimeter. The neck profile retains its smooth ambered gloss.
A padded gigbag is included.
