Up for sale, a 2002 Fender "Order Made" Jeff Beck “TeleGib” Telecaster model HTL52-JB in excellent condition and in perfect working order, 100% original aside from a pair of upgraded Seymour Duncan humbuckers.
Fender Japan's Order Made program functioned as a sort of Fender Japan custom shop, offering a bevy of non-catalog features and finishes, and this HTL52-JB pays tribute to the famous TeleGib that Seymour Duncan assembled for Jeff Beck at the Fender Soundhouse in London in 1974, the guitar Beck went on to play on Blow by Blow. Duncan built the original from a battered '59 Telecaster, loading it with a pair of '59 Gibson “Patent Applied For” humbuckers he rewound himself after salvaging them from Lonnie Mack's smashed Flying V.
Weighing 7lbs 12oz, this TeleGib pairs an ash body with a maple neck and a cut-down bridge base with block saddles, loaded with a set of upgraded Seymour Duncan zebra-bobbin humbuckers: an SH-1 '59 in the neck and an SH-4 JB in the bridge. The sound is rich, dynamic, and authoritative, pairing the warm, articulate PAF voice of the '59 with the hot, mid-forward snarl of the JB, and each sound on the three-way pickup selector is vital and distinct. This Jeff Beck TeleGib has been professionally set up here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
