2002 Fender Jeff Beck Telecaster HTL52-JB TeleGib Butterscotch w/ Dimarzio Virtual PAF & Hangtags, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Jeff Beck "TeleGib" Telecaster model HTL52-JB in showroom clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags. An exceedingly rare, non-catalog model with matching Order Made stamps in the neck heel and pocket, this premium Fender Japan offering was made in extremely small quantities, only offered in the Japanese domestic market.

Inspired by the famous TeleGib instrument assembled for Jeff Beck by Seymour Duncan in the '70s and used on Blow by Blow, this HTL52-JB Telecaster features an ash body, one-piece maple neck with a deep V neck profile carve, super jumbo fretwire, a pair of USA-made Dimario Virtual PAF humbuckers, and a shorted bridge base outfitted with brass saddles. The sound is rich, dynamic, and authoritative, with the harmonic complexity, airy trebles, and sweet growl of a proper PAF. The low end is round and focused with a certain sweetness, and each sound on the three-way pickup selector is vital and distinct. The guitar weighs 8lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and low action.

The maple neck has a deep V-shaped neck profile carve with lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .905" deep at the 1st fret and .995" at the 12th. The maple fretboard has flawless super jumbo fretwire with tons of meat and crown, and notes ring out clearly up the 25 1/2" scale, even with liberal bending. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The nut measures 42.5mm in width (1.675"), and the headstock features a '50s-style Tele logo and Kluson-style tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The neck heel and pocket have matching Order Made factory stamps, and the P-prefix serial and "Crafted in Japan" text is present above the four-bolt neck plate.

The electronics function flawlessly, with USA-made Dimarzio Virtual PAF model DP196 and DP197 humbuckers. The chrome plating is gleaming on the control plate and domed knurled knobs, with light patina across the trio of brass saddles. The Butterscotch Blonde finish highlights the dynamic grain of the ash body, and the guitar is exceedingly well-kept, with just a few microscopic marks on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

The original gigbag is included, along with the manual and hangtag with matching serial and Order Made number.
