Up for sale, a 2002 Fender Jaguar HH in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. The Jaguar HH is a model made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market, pairing a classic Fender Jaguar platform with more Gibson-centric pickups and hardware. Finished in custom color Gunmetal Blue with a matching headstock and black chrome hardware, it's a visually striking instrument too, and the stock pair of Dragster humbuckers have a full and punchy sound. Benefitting from the myriad switching of the original Jaguar design, the guitar boasts a Rhythm Circuit on the lower body horn to thicken up the sound, and a bright switch located on the hexagonal control plate to make things extra snappy when desired. This Jaguar weighs 8lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a medium C profile carve with full shoulders in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .930" at the 12th. The dark rosewood slab fretboard retains the original slender frets which have their full factory height with well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-7. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24" scale with a responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod and straight neck. The bone nut measures 42mm in width (fractionally shy of 1 11/16"), and the headstock is fitted with the original Kluson-style Gotoh tuners which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should. The "Crafted in Japan" text and P-prefix serial number are present above the four-bolt neck plate.
All of the electronics function as intended, and the black chrome hardware shows patina through the plating on pickup covers and control plates down to a more traditional chrome. The Adjusto-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece are akin to what you'd find on any Gibson, ensuring optimal tuning stability and sustain. The Gunmetal Blue metalflake gloss finish is accented by a black pickguard, and cosmetic wear is limited to just a couple dings and very faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss essentially relegated to the back, while the ambered gloss finish on the neck profile is nigh flawless.
A padded gigbag is included.
