Up for sale, a 2001 Parker Fly Classic in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original molded hardshell case, user manual, and accessories. The Parker Fly is built for versatility, with a huge array of tonal sculpting options and a number of proprietary construction techniques designed to maximize playability and stability on stage and in the studio.

Tonewoods include a basswood neck and a carved mahogany body, both backed with Parker’s patented carbon and glass reinforcement, ensuring exceptional stability. Pickups include a pair of custom wound DiMarzio humbuckers, and the onboard Fishman Piezo system, yielding a particularly broad sonic range. The Stereo/Mono switch also enables the user to split or blend the Piezo pickup and humbucker pair. Remarkably lightweight at just 5lbs 5oz, this Parker has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and spot-on intonation.

The basswood neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with modest shoulders, measuring .790” deep at the 1st fret and .815” at the 12th. The 24-fret fretboard is crafted from a proprietary blend of carbon fiber and glass, designed for durability and articulation, and the slender stainless steel fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale, and the neck is arrow straight. The nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The headstock features lightweight aluminum Sperzel locking tuning machines, and the serial on the side of the headstock IDs the tonewoods and dates production to 2001.

Controls include a Master Volume knob, dedicated Volume and Tone knobs for the DiMarzio humbuckers, and stacked Piezo Volume and Tone knobs, plus a three-way Magnetic Pickup Selector toggle and a three-position Piezo/Magnetic Pickup Selector switch. The battery for the Fishman Piezo is accessed along the lower bout perimeter, along with the push-button Stereo/Mono switch. The High Performance “Flat Spring” vibrato is another proprietary design, actuating very smoothly with a high degree of stability and can be quickly adjusted between Fixed, Bend Down Only, and Floating functionalities. The tension wheel for the vibrato can be adjusted on both sides of the unit, and the original arm is included.

The body contours are fine-tuned for optimal weight relief. The back is convex, with about as minimal of a neck heel as seen on any guitar, plus a significant taper down to less than 1/2“ thickness along the bass-side edge where the arm rests. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Natural Mahogany finish is limited to a small area of cloudiness central to the top (between the bridge pickup and the vibrato), a couple minor dings along the lower bout perimeter, and just a scant few pinhead-sized nicks and faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.

The original Parker-branded molded hardshell case is included, along with the user manual and accessories.
