Up for sale, a 2001 Ibanez Artstar AS200 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Crafted at the venerable Fujigen factory in Japan, this AS200 boasts a notably rare Amber gloss finish over the heavily figured flame maple body. This finish was a Japan-only domestic market option, only available from 2000-2003.

Loaded with a pair of Ibanez's Super 58 humbuckers, these vintage-style humbuckers channel the warmth and articulation of the semi-hollow body. The bridge pickup has great midrange growl and authority, while the neck pickup is coupled to a three-way Tri-Sound switch for coil tap functionality. In humbucker mode, the neck pickup is fat and clear with a sweetness ideal for lead work, and via the Tri-Sound switch, two coil tap options have plenty of spank and sparkle. The guitar weighs 8lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The three-piece neck has two pieces of mahogany framing a maple central third, with a slender C-shaped carve that has just enough roundness in the shoulders, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The bound ebony fingerboard has pearl block inlay bisected by abalone trapezoids, and the medium jumbo frets have their full factory height and plenty of meat, showing virtually no wear. The guitar plays easily up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures a full 1 11/16" in width (43mm), and the headstock features the original Gotoh tuners which visually match the VelveTune II design and function reliably.

The electronics function flawlessly, with dedicated Volume and Tone knobs for each humbucker with a three-way pickup selector switch and Tri-Sound mini toggle to coil tap the neck position humbucker. Plastics include the multi-ply bound tortoise pickguard and quartet of Sure Grip II speed knobs, and hardware comprises the Gibraltar II bridge and Quik Change II tailpiece, both with clean gold plating and just a dusting of surface patina.

The gloss Amber finish highlights the extremely tight, straight tiger flame figuring in the bookmatched top and back, with similarly intense flame figuring on the rims, framed by multi-ply grained ivoroid binding. Stunningly well-kept for over two decades, cosmetic wear is limited to just a scant few microscopic marks on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.

The original black tolex hardshell case with Ibanez badge on the exterior is included, along with the original hangtags and factory documentation.
