Up for sale, a 2001 Gibson L-00 vintage reissue acoustic guitar in excellent, 100% original condition, complete with the original hardshell case. A rare model produced for Gibson's Japanese distributor Yamano, this L-00 is unlike the majority of Gibson's L-00 and "Blues King" models in its scale length, nut width, and body dimensions.

This particular L-00 iteration is closer to a Nick Lucas in construction, with the same increased body depth as that signature model, measuring a notable 4 3/4" deep at the lower bout and only a fractionally shallower 4 1/2" at the upper bout. The result is a sound that's both cavernous and sparkling. Additionally, the guitar is notable for its long 25 1/2" scale, which adds more tension to the top, offering a powerful and muscly projection that belies the L-00's modest body size.

The guitar features an early script logo headstock silkscreen, X braced solid spruce top, and solid mahogany back and sides. Despite its relatively narrow waist and shoulders, the L-00 produces a broad and balanced sound, and the top end has ample articulation, lending itself to fingerpicking and providing a clarity and detail not always present on Gibson's smaller bodied acoustics. Cutting and clear when needed, and providing ample warmth with a soft strum, this Gibson L-00 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, dialed in with fresh 12-53 strings and comfortable action.

There is one small area of impact on the back that’s only “skin deep” and not through the wood, stabilized as needed just to the treble side of the center seam on the back. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is otherwise limited to just a few tiny marks and finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely relegated to the back and top at the lower bout. The neck profile retains its smooth nitro gloss, with just a couple shallow marks central to the carve behind fret 6.

The original black tolex hardshell case is included.
