Up for sale, a 2001 Fender American Vintage '75 Jazz Bass in 100% original condition and in perfect working order. An exceedingly rare example of this American Vintage series Jazz Bass model offered exclusively via Fender's distribution deal with Yamano in Japan, this bass features a custom color Sonic Blue gloss nitro lacquer finish and matching headstock.A visually alluring Jazz Bass with pearloid blocks and cream neck binding, this Fender delivers equal parts low end warmth and midrange cut, with the smooth growl and upper midrange burp of the bridge pickup blending well with the fullness and thump of the neck position single coil. Combined, the two pickups produce an array of sounds appropriate for virtually any live or recording situation. The bass balances well on a strap and weighs 9lbs 11oz, professionally dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation. The maple neck has a slender U-shaped profile carve with some roundness in the shoulders by virtue of the neck binding, and a fast, effortless feel in every register, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this particular tonewood, with pearloid block inlay and one replaced inlay at the 1st fret. The original medium jumbo frets are flawless, and the bass plays cleanly up the 34 "scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The upgraded carved bone nut measures 1 1/2" in width. On the Sonic Blue-finished headstock, the nickel-plated vintage spec tuning machines turn very smoothly and hold pitch well, and the headstock retains its "Special Edition" waterslide decal on the back. The F neck plate also has an extremely low two-digit serial number, and the neck heel and pocket have date stamps spanning 2000-2001.All of the electronics work flawlessly, with untouched solder joints and CTS pots. The chrome hardware is positively gleaming save for heavy patina across the bridge saddles, and the pair of "ashtray" bridge and pickup covers are original to the instrument. Cosmetic wear on the Sonic Blue nitro lacquer finish includes one finish chip of note on the treble-side lower bout edge, a couple shallow dings on the bass-side body horn and just a few additional minor marks on the back and body perimeter. The neck has a silky smooth nitro gloss.A brand new Fender G&G Deluxe black tolex hardshell case is included.
