Up for sale, a 2000s Yamaha SGV-1200 Flying Samurai vintage reissue electric guitar in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. Produced from 2000-2004, the rarely seen SVG-1200 is the highest-tier of the SGV line and a faithful modern iteration of the original esteemed Flying Samurai. A unique amalgamation of surf-inspired design elements influenced by both Mosrite and Fender, the guitar boasts a classic medley of tonewoods, featuring a solid alder body, one-piece maple neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. The stock pair of oversized screw-pole alnico magnet single coil pickups offer great snap, sparkle, and cut with plenty of lower midrange fullness. This SGV-1200 weighs 8lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, accurate intonation, and comfortable action.

The maple neck has a very slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders, measuring .755” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard is a dark and tight-grained cut, featuring a 10" radius with dot inlay and pristine stock fretwire just shy of medium jumbo in size. The guitar plays well in all registers up the straight neck with a responsive, ideally adjusted truss rod. The scale length measures 24 3/4", and the bone nut is a slender 1 9/16“ in width. On the slim headstock, the stock gold Kluson-style tuners work as they should, holding pitch against liberal vibrato use.

All of the electronics function as intended, with individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control topped with a trio of gold smooth top Mosrite-esque knobs. The stock metal switch tip and vibrato arm are present, and the gold hardware shows light wear through the plating. The plastic parts and finish show a touch of uniform yellowing, and cosmetic wear is limited to faint scuffing at the treble side of the pick path, and light scuffs and marks mostly relegated to the lower bout body edge. Barring a small mark in the clear coat behind fret 5, the neck sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.

The original Yamaha-branded gigbag is included.
