Up for sale, an early 2000's Jackson Stars Kelly seven string electric guitar in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original fitted gigbag. A Japanese domestic market model, the Jackson Stars instruments are the direct descendants of the Grover Jackson line, expertly crafted at the Chu Shin factory. Exceedingly rare, this limited edition seven string features a maple neck through body with alder wings, a rosewood fretboard, string through body construction, and a powerful pair of passive Seymour Duncan pickups. The Sentient (neck) and Pegasus (bridge) humbuckers were engineered by Seymour Duncan to compliment each other, and the Sentient tonally fits between Duncan's ‘59 model and Jazz humbuckers, offering pristine cleans for intricate chords and single note runs, and a fluid, tight sound in high gain scenarios. The Pegasus delivers a lush, responsive tone tailored for progressive metal. It’s a harmonically rich pickup with a prominent midrange character and focused low end. The high resonant peak keeps treble frequencies detailed, and the accurate pick attack ensures that you will cut through any mix with tight-tracking transients. This Kelly weighs 8lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with slinky action and accurate intonation. The maple neck features a contoured heel and a D-shaped profile carve, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .890” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features shark fin inlay and stock jumbo fretwire with tons of meat and well-rounded crowns. There is just a hint of wear under the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-3, with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The guitar plays well in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. The scale length is a full 25 1/2“, and the nut measures 1 7/8“ in width. The bound headstock features the Jackson Stars logo and stock set of black Grover Jackson tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The serial number is stamped into the fretboard, just beyond the 24th fret. The electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls, knurled black knobs, and a three-way pickup selector toggle. Cosmetically there is scuffing on the treble side of the pick path, with finish chips on the points of the instrument. The neck sports a pristine smooth gloss finish on the profile. The original fitted faux leather Jackson Stars gigbag is included.
