Up for sale, a 2000s ESP EX-STD in near mint condition and in perfect working order. A sleek, expertly crafted instrument with a mahogany body, three-piece maple neck, and pair of EMG pickups, this EX-STD is designed for speed and high gain.

The EX-STD pickup pair includes an EMG 81 in the bridge position, and an EMG 60 at the neck. Utilizing powerful ceramic magnets and close aperture coils, the EMG 81 was designed for optimal note detail, enhanced high end cut, and fluid sustain, engineered so that lead work will slice through even the densest mix. The EMG 60 packs plenty of output with a balance of thick, boosted mids, big lows and singing highs. The guitar is featherweight at 7lbs, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with low action, spot-on intonation, and fresh 9-42 strings.

The maple neck features a "Thin U" neck profile carve with full shoulders, actually growing a hair more slender in overall depth as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .915” deep at the 1st fret and .900” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features a 12” radius and pristine extra jumbo XJ fretwire. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the straight neck with an optimally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 24.75“, and the nut measures 42mm (1.653") in width. The headstock features original black Gotoh tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

On the body, the stock electronics feature a three-way pickup selector switch and Master Volume and Tone controls for the pair of EMG humbuckers. The black Gotoh-made hardware is notably clean, and as a testament to how little this guitar has been played since new, the factory protective plastic is still present on the rear control cavity cover. Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to a minuscule finish chip at the tip of the bass side lower bout. The finish on the neck profile is pristine.
