Up for sale, a 2000 Rickenbacker 330/12 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Boasting the original Turquoise custom color gloss finish, this Rickenbacker has been extremely well-kept for the past two decades, complete with a hardshell case.
Tonally, there's nothing that can match the iconic jangle, chime, and shimmer of the Rickenbacker 12 string design, with plenty of warmth and sonic variety available between the two original Hi-Gain pickups. Despite the Hi-Gain moniker, these pickups are actually wound in such a way that keeps the top end snap and sparkle of the Rickenbacker sound very present in the mix, with a crisp percussive snap. Acoustically, the guitar has a brilliant and clear voice, balancing well on a strap and weighing 7lbs 10oz. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Rickenbacker boasts low action and solid intonation.
The dual truss rod enforced maple neck has a round, full-feeling C profile carve with generous shoulder, measuring .925" deep at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. The bound slab rosewood fretboard features dot inlay and practically perfect slender frets. The guitar plays cleanly in every register with a straight neck and responsive, ideally adjusted truss rods. The scale length is a full 24 3/4", and the stock nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the original chrome Schaller tuning machines all turn smoothly with clean plating. And of course the iconic Rickenbacker logo truss rod cover is present as well.
All of the electronics work as they should, and everything is exactly how it was when the guitar left the Rickenbacker factory, with untouched solder joints and CTS pots. The control layout includes individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, and an additional fifth knob that blends in the neck pickup signal with that of the bridge (especially useful when both pickups are engaged). The chrome hardware is positively gleaming and the original plastic parts are near mint. Cosmetic wear on the Turquoise gloss finish is limited to a fractional amount of finish chipping adjacent to the fretboard extension on top and at the neck heel, and a few exceedingly faint finish scuffs in the clear coat on the back. The neck profile is free of wear with a smooth gloss.
A brand new plastic molded Rickenbacker hardshell case is included.
