Up for sale, a 2000 Rickenbacker 325V59 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color Turquoise and complete with the original silver tolex hardshell case. The original custom color gloss finish elevates the rarity of this discontinued Rickenbacker model; a faithful reissue of the 325 Capri, decked out with the factory-installed Bigsby B5 vibrato.
A short scale Rickenbacker model that truly captures the classic jangle and percussive rhythm familiar to any Beatles fan, this instrument is outfitted with the original trio of Toaster Top single coils. Featherweight at only 7lbs with a chambered maple body, this Rickenbacker has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 11-49 roundwound strings, low action and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck has a C-shaped profile carve with round shoulders and rolled fretboard edges, Â measuring .925" deep at both the 1st and 12th frets. The thick slab rosewood fretboard retains the original slender frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the B and High E strings on frets 1-5. The scale length is 21", as per factory spec for this short scale model, making it easy to execute chord extensions and navigate the fretboard speedily. The nut width measures 1 5/8". On the headstock, the original back-painted lucite gold truss rod cover/logo is intact, and the guitar has been fitted with vintage-style open-gear Grover-esque tuners with butterbean buttons.
The electronics all function as intended, with an untouched wiring harness including original CTS 500k pots with Rickenbacker's 07341 part number, dating to the 25th week of 2000. The mono jack plate has been replaced with a vintage-style elongated plate. The three-way pickup selector couples the middle pickup to the neck and bridge for tonal combinations only found on triple pickup models, and this guitar features a trio of Rickenbacker's higher output Toaster Top pickups offered in this era.
Plastics include the near-mint dual-tiered gold pickguards and quartet of oven knobs. The upgraded Mastery M5 Ric-style bridge offers additional stability and sustain far beyond the stock design while maintaining a traditional appearance. The pair of hard chrome-plated brass bridge saddles are self-lubricating, ensuring a very smooth, reliable pairing with the original Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece, perfect for quick warbles and moderate dives.
While the 325V59 model is ubiquitous in both Mapleglo and Jetglo finishes, this model is virtually unseen finished in its original Turquoise. Rare as they come, this custom color Ric exhibits just a few small nicks and light finish scratches on the body as a whole, while the finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original silver tolex hardshell case is included.
