Up for sale, a 2000 Gibson Les Paul Classic in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Designed to evoke the look and feel of a 1960 Les Paul Standard, the Classic boasts many features notable to that era of Les Paul production, including a slimmer neck profile, push-in tuner bushings, and a correct ‘50s headstock shape.Weighing 9lbs 2oz, this Les Paul features the classic tonewood complement of a two-piece carved maple top, mahogany body, and a one-piece mahogany neck capped by a bound rosewood fretboard. Offering plenty of resonance, natural sustain and natural acoustic bark, this Les Paul is loaded with the original 496R and 500T humbucker pair. Some of Gibson's most hotly wound ceramic magnet humbuckers, the 496R delivers a biting, bluesy edge with notable treble detail and an increase in harmonics, while the 500T delivers a rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs, wax potted for ideal feedback rejection in high gain scenarios. This Les Paul Classic has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation. The one-piece mahogany neck has a 1960 correct slim C-shaped profile carve with good shoulder and a fast feel, measuring .800" deep at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has yellowed pearloid trapezoid inlays and immaculate slender fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The headstock sports the “Classic”-embossed truss rod cover, pearl Gibson inlay, Les Paul Classic gold silkscreen, and a set of original Kluson-style Gibson Deluxe tuners with greened keystone buttons and push-in bushings. The inked serial is present on the back of the headstock. All of the electronics function as intended; the original humbuckers have Gibson USA-embossed baseplates, the solder joints are untouched, and the harness features Alpha pots and ceramic disc tone caps. The bridge and stopbar have clean nickel plating, and plastics include the amber bonnet knobs, pickup rings, amber switch tip, and cream one-ply pickguard, which retains the “1960” script. The gloss Light Burst nitro lacquer finish is a relatively rare option, presenting as a diffused version of Cherry Sunburst, and cosmetic wear is limited to a touch of faint buckle worming and a couple tiny marks on the back. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is immaculate.A Gibson USA black tolex hardshell case with black plush interior is included.
