Up for sale, a 2000 Gibson Flying V '67 vintage reissue model in 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. A discontinued model with a gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish, this Flying V boasts solid mahogany construction, loaded with Gibson's 496R and 500T humbuckers. The 496R produces incredible sustain and cutting power with its ceramic magnet, adding more highs with increased definition and no mud in high gain scenarios. The 500T is one of Gibson’s most powerful pickups, containing a three ceramic magnet structure, which enables a no-holds-barred rock and roll crunch that never loses its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. Weighing 7lbs 11oz, this Flying V has been dialed in here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The one-piece mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders in every register, measuring .785" deep at the 1st fret and .870" at the 12th. On the extremely dark, tight-grained rosewood fretboard, the stock frets are nigh flawless with well-rounded crowns and plenty of meat. The guitar plays cleanly up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width. On the headstock, the original Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with greened tulip buttons turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.
All of the electronics work as intended, with the dual humbuckers wired to individual Volume controls and a Master Tone knob. The chrome hardware and plastic parts are notably clean, and the guitar boasts a gloss nitro lacquer finish, not to be confused with the lesser "Faded" series models. The Ebony lacquer finish is applied nice and thin, with the pores of the mahogany faintly visible in direct lighting. Cosmetic wear includes an area of heavy buckle rash on the back, and beyond this there are just a few small dings and light finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth with just a couple shallow marks on the treble-side shoulder.
The original brown tolex Gibson USA hardshell case is included.
