2000 Gibson Custom Shop Historic 1960 SG Special TV Yellow w/ Case

Up for sale, a 2000 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 SG Special in perfect working order with a TV Yellow gloss finish, complete with a hardshell case. The stock pair of pickups take full advantage of the resonant and warm-sounding mahogany body, with the sweetness, glassy articulation, and midrange grind for which the P-90 is known. It's hard to beat mahogany, a fast-feeling '60s C neck profile carve, and a pair of P-90s for a pure and dynamically responsive sound. This SG Special weighs 6lbs 10oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.The one-piece mahogany neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders in every register, fast-feeling yet not overly slim, measuring .835" deep at the 1st fret and .895" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features original slender frets which retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing light wear beneath the plain strings on the crowns of frets 1-5. The neck is straight, and this guitar has the precision build quality and effortless playability that one expects from Gibson's Custom Shop. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features Kluson Deluxe single line strip tuners, a Gibson pearl logo, and a stamped serial number.All of the electronics work as they should, and the wiring harness has been upgraded with 500k CTS pots and premium paper-in-oil tone capacitors. The wraparound tailpiece shows light surface patina on the nickel plating, and the plastics are all intact including the amber switch tip, black reflector cap knobs, and a multi-ply pickguard. The TV Yellow gloss nitro lacquer finish exhibits honest playwear, with forearm wear on the bass-side lower bout on top, buckle rash across the back, and some small nicks and finish scuffs on the body as a whole.
